What is it with women and shoes anyway?! While I hate to admit it, this is one stereotype that is pretty spot on. And, I may add, not a bad thing!! I may be on the extreme end of the spectrum, as I’m in “the biz” and all, but even my sisters in arms who can count their pairs on one hand will agree- there is no joy in shopping quite like a brand new pair of shoes. You spy them on the shelf, and your breath quickens. You pick them up and turn them over in your hands as a nervous smile starts to creep onto your face. Waiting for the salesperson to bring your size is agony. Then the moment arrives when you slip your foot into the shoe, and all is right with the world. For some women it is in finding the perfect, comfy flat. For others it is the bedazzled sky high stiletto. Or a suede wedge. Or a patterned pump. Or a flat, knee high boot with a buckle in the perfect shade of Bordeaux that will look soooo good with that old pair of jeans/skirt/mini dress in the back of the closet! Or…ahem… all of the above. Shoes don’t care that the daily trip to the gym has been replaced with the daily trip to the bakery, they still fit, and they still look spectacular! So let’s celebrate our (healthy and completely normal) obsession with our footwear. Let us bathe in the beauty of our boots! Let us bask in the shine of our stilettos! Let us frolic in the fabulosity of our flats! Say it with me now…shoes…shoes…Shoes…Shoes…SHOES…SHOES!

Canoodling with movie stars and hob-nobbing with heads of state and international dignitaries. Jetting (privately, natch) to Belize for the weekend, just ‘cause. It’s May, and as I was just reminded, Mother’s Day is right around the corner. This weekend to be exact. Uh oh. But never fear! Miz Mooz is here! I’m a nice, sweet, well behaved, girl. I love kittens, cupcakes, and the color pink. I wear florals, pastels, and heart shaped jewelry. Get the idea? Lately though, I’ve been feeling the need to toughen up my look- less sugar, more spice- and I have found the key. It’s the Vento by Miz Mooz! Edgy but not scary, this is the sandal of my rebel-in-training dreams. The stacked wood heel puts me at just the right height to reach the top shelf (the one with the candy!) in my kitchen. In case you didn’t get the memo-email-text-tweet- or whatever it is these days- cowboy boots are back; back in a big big way.  We’re talking everything from rugged and distressed, to shiny and metallic.   John Wayne to Rhinestone Cowboy.  Rodeo to Rodeo Drive.   And you need a pair.  Now.

I do have to warn you, the decision on which style to pick is going to be difficult.  Maybe not Sophie’s Choice difficult, but certainly no walk in the park, or around the ranch, as the case may be.  It would be easier if there was a women’s magazine-style multiple choice quiz to help narrow it down.   You know the ones I’m talking about; if you answer mostly A’s you’re a tough lady with a sensitive side- the Cozumel is for you!  Mostly B’s?  You’re the vivacious outgoing type- try the Cabana in gold snake print!  Though priced well under $200, why not pick two pairs?  You’re going to need them after all, these are definitely the boot of the season…and next season, and next season, and the season after that…What are you waiting for?  Happy Shopping!
